Register to Vote If

Register to vote if:

  • You are not currently registered .
  • You changed your address or name since the last election.

    You may verify whether you are registered to vote and that your address and name information is up to date on the Colorado Secretary of State's web site here.

    Registration requirements:

  • Citizen of the United States
  • At least 16 years old. You may register at age 16, but understand that you cannot vote until you are 18 years old
  • You have resided in Colorado for at least 22 days immediately before the election (October 15, 2018)
  • Provide a valid Colorado Driver's License or Colorado ID card or present one of the acceptable forms of identification for voting. The acceptable forms of voter identification are listed on the Colorado Secretary of State's web site here
  • You are not currently serving a sentence of confinement, detention, or parole for a felony conviction

Note: The last day to register prior to an election is determined by the way you register to vote: online, by mail, or in person.

You can register online until 8 days before the Election. That date is October 29. 2018.

Important: Sign it if you are registering for the first time, you must include a photocopy of a valid ID. Then mail it to:

To Register in Person

You can register in person anytime during which registration is permitted including Election Day, November 6, 2018

Registration Confirmation

Whether you register by mail or in person, a Voter Confirmation Card will be mailed to you approximately 2-3 weeks after your registration is processed. If you did not receive one, call your County Clerk's office:

If you did not choose a political party, you will be registered as "unaffiliated." If you later decide to declare a party, you can indicate this change by contacting your County Clerk's office:

You do not have to declare a party affiliation to vote in a general election.
