About this event

Rocky Mountain Welcome Center Forum September 10, 2025 event

The Rocky Mountain Welcome Center invites you to a conversation that's part of their Forum Series: "Inside Immigration Detention: Understanding Conditions and Human Impact" in-person.

This community forum will explore life inside the GEO detention facility in Aurora, the challenges families face, and the lasting impact on our community.

The panel will bring powerful perspectives:
  1. Viviana Vethencourt, Rocky Mountain Welcome Center Clinical Director
  2. Andrea Loya, Executive Director of Casa de Paz
  3. A Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network representative
  4. A recently released immigrant mother of two, former detainee
Together, they will shed light on the realities of detention and inspire us to imagine and advocate for more compassionate alternatives as we stand alongside the immigrant and refugee communities.

Free and open to the public.
